FWD Takaful Partners With AEON Insurance Brokers To Close The Protection Gap Amongst Motorcyclists In Malaysia

FWD Picture 2FWD Takaful Berhad (“FWD Takaful”) and AEON Insurance Brokers (M) Sdn. Bhd. (“AIBM”) have partnered to offer a complimentary term takaful plan (“Plan”) via AIBM’s participating motorcycle merchants, aimed at addressing the low protection rates amongst motorcyclists in Malaysia. This collaboration is set to revolutionise the way motorcyclists experience safety and protection on the open road.

Motorcycles, as a mode of transportation, are essential to support the livelihood and lifestyle of Malaysians and due to their affordability, make up 46.6% of all registered vehicles in the nation. In 2022, the number of total registered motorcycle sales reached an estimate of 720,000 units, representing an almost 40% increase from the estimated number of 500,000 units sold in 2021. In view of this, FWD Takaful and AIBM set out to play a more proactive role in protecting motorcyclists and their families. The Plan provides comprehensive coverage in the event of the death of the motorcycle owner, due to natural causes or accidental death, where the sum covered is RM8,000 or RM20,000, respectively. This innovative Plan is offered as part of a complimentary and value-added service to motorcyclists who purchase their vehicle through any of AIBM’s participating motorcycle merchants. In the event of an unfortunate occurrence, the pay-out from the Plan may offer temporary financial relief to the remaining family members, hence reducing the potential financial strain that may occur as a result of their passing on. By offering this Plan as part of their motor purchase journey, we also provide an easy onboarding experience that allows our customers to be covered automatically without undergoing a medical check-up as well as a straightforward claims process.

Salim Majid Zain, Chief Executive Officer of FWD Takaful, said, “We are honoured to partner with AIBM to offer this micro-takaful plan, which is designed to be accessible and inclusive, catering to the underserved segment of motorcyclists. With around 83% of households owning a motorcycle, Malaysians’ usage and reliance on two-wheelers is high. This partnership enables us to integrate the term takaful plan as part of a value-added service to protect motorcyclists and their families and to tap into a growing market. This partnership will also enable us to do our part in closing the protection gap amongst Malaysians by providing innovative protection products and solutions and support Bank Negara Malaysia’s target to increase the protection penetration rate to 75%, for both conventional and takaful segment.”

Bruce Chen, CEO of AEON Insurance Brokers (M) Sdn. Bhd, said, “Today marks a pivotal moment for us as we join forces with FWD Takaful. This is not just a business alliance but a heartfelt commitment to every motorcyclist in Malaysia, echoing our promise to nurture and elevate our suite of two-wheeler solutions, especially for the motorcycle merchants who hold a special place in our journey. Traditionally, motorcyclists have been greeted with accessories. Today, we are charting a new course.  Instead of tangible gifts, we are offering something infinitely more valuable: a safety net, a promise and peace of mind. This partnership is a game-changer for motorcyclists. Our collaboration with FWD Takaful brings together the best in takaful, ensuring that motorcyclists have access to the support they deserve. We are thrilled to be a part of this journey to enhance their protection.”

Datuk Wee Hong, Chairman of Malaysia Motorcycle & Scooter Dealers Association also added, “This prolific partnership marks a shift in the way we cater to and safeguard motorcyclists. Together, FWD Takaful and AEON Insurance Brokers will offer meaningful takaful protection for Malaysian motorcyclists. This partnership not only brings positive change to them but with a protection plan in place, they can also be assured of their family’s financial security, should anything unfortunate happen to them.”

Developed by Nexible Solutions, a Malaysia Digital Status company, Outperform has positioned itself as a beacon of Malaysian technological innovation. With a robust clientele of over 120 enterprise companies and a substantial presence among SMEs in Malaysia, the platform has been a game-changer. Outperform’s proficiency in capturing, distributing and managing leads from a variety of channels – both digital and traditional – has been pivotal in enhancing sales efficiency and marketing strategies for numerous businesses.

The AI Outreach Module

At the heart of Outperform’s latest upgrade is its AI Outreach system. Since mid-2022, this system has been rigorously tested with select clients to ensure unparalleled performance. Utilizing Generative AI technology, tailored with industry-specific conversational datasets, the module can seamlessly interact in multiple languages, including Bahasa Malaysia. Outperform’s AI Outreach can reach out to potential leads via Whatsapp and converse with them autonomously before handing over qualified leads to the sales team. The AI System also analyzes customer interactions via phone calls and Whatsapp to create meaningful analytics and recommend next steps.

Anan Saminathen, CEO of Nexible Solutions, elaborated, “We have meticulously curated a dataset comprising thousands of customer interactions in Malaysia. This enables our AI to not only engage effectively with leads but also to autonomously enrich the CRM database, something that was previously unachievable without manual intervention.”

In real estate, for instance, companies have observed a marked improvement in lead qualification and customer engagement, leading to faster closures and improved customer satisfaction. Automotive clients praise the platform for its ability to streamline the customer journey, from initial inquiry to post-sales service. The AI model has been trained with tens of thousands of industry-specific dialogues in Malaysia, enabling it to understand and respond to customer queries with human-like accuracy. This AI is constantly learning and evolving, ensuring that it remains at the forefront of technological advancements.

“Our AI orchestration engine takes into account local slangs, languages and personality. Our clients have seen at least a 3X increase in lead qualification rate and they finally have a lot of structured data about their customers for big data analysis and better CX”,  Anan Saminathen added.

Looking Ahead: The Future of CRM and AI Integration

As Nexible Solutions looks to the future, they envision a world where AI integration in CRM is not just a luxury but a necessity. The company is already in the process of enhancing Outperform with additional AI-driven features, such as predictive analytics and personalized customer journey mapping. These developments are expected to further cement Outperform’s position as a leading CRM solution, both in Malaysia and in the region.

A Call to Action: Embrace the Future

Commenting on Crispy Chocolate’s 50th anniversary, PMC Executive Director, Andrew Khoo, said: “For a home-grown chocolate brand to celebrate this milestone is a very proud moment for us.  It is a testament to Crispy’s enduring brand value in a competitive field dominated by established international brands.

Khoo noted that, internationally, fewer than 10 chocolate brands have had a history of 50 years or longer.

Crispy chocolate owes its success to its unique malty taste made of the finest malt, quality cocoa and with oven-roasted rice cereal, making it not just another tasty snack, but wholesome as well.”

Network Foods asserts that Crispy chocolate is classified as a health snack containing low sugar content and dietary fibre.

As a testament to its healthful quality, Crispy Chocolate has won the Best Kid Snack in the Natural Health Readers’ Choice Award 2022 and the Cocoa Industry special award from the Malaysian Cocoa Board.  It is also certified by the Singapore Health Promotion Board in addition to being certified by Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (JAKIM) and Majlis Ulama Indonesia (MUI HALAL)

Capitalising on its popularity, the Crispy brand has recently launched the Crispy spreads for breakfast toasts and Crispy Popz malt balls for easy snacking.  The company has also created a Special Crispy Edition range that combines exciting unique Malaysian, Korean and Japanese-inspired flavours.  More line extensions of the Crispy range are being considered in future.

Talentbank Reveals National Graduate Employability Index to Guide Youths in Choosing Universities That Enhance Job Prospects After Graduation

Talentbank, a national talent ecosystem enabler, proudly unveiled its groundbreaking National Graduate Employability Index (Talentbank’s GE Index) at the 6th Graduates’ Choice Award Presentation Gala, recently hosted at Sunway Resorts Hotel. This significant event, which drew around 1,000 esteemed attendees from leading multinational corporations and premier educational institutions, showcased a prominent gathering of leaders from both academia and industry. The attendees included vice-chancellors, deputy vice chancellors, registrars, career services practitioners, professors, and deans, among others, with a significant representation of 30 vice chancellors from higher education institutions across the country.

The GE Index, a pioneering initiative by Talentbank, aims to transform how the youths plan their careers and assist universities in tailoring curricula to meet evolving industry demands. This significant development was launched in the presence of esteemed guests: Yang Berbahagia Dato’ Dr. Haji Megat Sany bin Megat Ahmad Supian, Deputy Secretary General (Policy) of the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia, and Yang Berusaha Professor Dr. Azlinda binti Azman, Director General of Higher Education, alongside Talentbank’s CEO, Ben Ho.

“Through the Talentbank’s GE Index, Talentbank is taking a significant step towards addressing graduate unemployment in Malaysia,” Ben Ho commented. “We believe in initiating career planning early in the educational journey, not just in the final university year. This proactive approach will enable students to make informed decisions about their education and future career paths, enhancing their career readiness upon graduation.”

Initiated in 2020, the Talentbank’s GE Index research is based on extensive surveys with top graduate employers, focusing on their university recruitment preferences. This three-year endeavour involved meticulous planning, comprehensive proof of concept development, and strategic market introduction to ensure the methodology’s validity and the results’ reliability. The insights from this process are crucial in evaluating how well universities prepare graduates for the job market.

Talentbank’s GE Index stands out as a comprehensive tool in assessing graduate employability across Malaysia. Employing a unique tripartite methodology, the GE Index provides a holistic view of how well universities are preparing their students for the workforce. This methodology includes three key aspects: firstly, identifying the universities that employers typically recruit from, secondly, quantifying the number of graduates hired from each university, and thirdly, evaluating the frequency of recurring hires based on positive performance. Far surpassing the scope of a mere survey, the GE Index serves as a vital career guide, strategically designed to reshape the way students approach their educational journeys. Its primary aim is to significantly reduce the rate of graduate unemployment in Malaysia, offering a proactive roadmap for students to align their education with real-world job market demands.

The event concluded with Ho and his team expressing their appreciation to the attendees and reaffirming their dedication to improving graduate employability in Malaysia.

Talentbank’s National Graduate Employability Index is an independent, apolitical centre of research and consultancy well versed in the graduate employability terrain. It evaluates thousands of leading graduate employers in key industry sectors to understand the employment trends amongst the graduates. Talentbank GE Index is focused on increasing the knowledge and practical experience to encourage better employability for the nation.
